The SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen was originally designed by Arne Jacobsen, who designed many of the hotel's furnishings. For its lobby, he created the biomorphic Egg (1958) and Swan, which are believed to be the first swiveling upholstered chairs. More than 50 years after its design, the Egg Chair is still used in advertising, film and television as a symbol of sophisticated urbanism.
This chair is a reproduction in wool of the famed Egg chair by Republic of Fritz Hansen, therefore the dimensions are not the same as the original. The affordable version of this reproduction chair can be found here.
