The SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen was originally designed by Arne Jacobsen, who designed many of the hotel's furnishings. For its lobby, he created the biomorphic Egg (1958) and Swan Chairs, which are believed to be the first swiveling upholstered chairs. More than 50 years after its design, the Egg Chair is still used in advertising, film and television as a symbol of sophisticated modernism. We also carry the Egg chair replica in wool. For a more affordable version of the Egg chair replica, we now carry it in bonded leather.
This chair is a reproduction of famed Egg chair by Republic of Fritz Hansen, therefore the dimensions are not the same as the original.
