A glimpse inside the wonderful world of Jaime Hayon

Here at EMFURN, we are huge fans of contemporary Spanish designer Jaime Hayon! We were delighted to hear that the incredible Groninger Museum in the Netherlands is hosting the designer’s first major solo exhibition, Fantastico! Bright, colorful, and undeniably bold, Hayon’s work definitely makes us smile. Open now until the 13th of March 2014, we urge you to visit the exhibition. Still not convinced it’s worth the trip? Take a look below, as we show you some amazing exhibits to whet your appetite.

Quirky furniture, not your thing? Then why not take a look at one of Hayon’s incredible installations? This life-sized chess set was originally displayed in London’s Trafalgar Square, and we think it’s fantastic! We may not be able to play, but we’d love to have a go at moving these pieces. Somehow we doubt that we’d be allowed!

Not only is this amazing exhibition of his work being held at the museum, but Hayon also designed the incredibly cool information center on-site. Check out the hooded Showtime Chairs and Copacabana T Pendant Lamps. It will also great for an industrial-chic vibe if we add a transparent scarlet light pendant. What a perfect place to spend some time?! It’s worth a visit in itself!

Can’t get to Holland? Hayon has collaborated with the shoe company, Camper, so you can go into selected stores and see some of his fabulous interior design in action! We adore both the Barcelona and Tokyo stores. Two places packed with Jaime Hayon pieces.
